Hong Leong Bank may sell MIMB licence

Hong Leong Bank may sell MIMB Investment Bank Bhd’s investment licence included in its acquisition of EON Capital’s assets and liabilities.

 

Hong Leong Bank completed the acquisition of EON Capital’s assets and liabilities for RM5.06 billion, making it the fourth largest banking group.

“We have a choice of selling it to Hong Leong Investment Bank. That’s one option,” group managing director, said Yvonne China.

She said Hong Leong Bank had also some other suitors who may be interested but declined to elaborate further.
