Investment classics published for overseas investors
Honglou Fortune and 36 Strategems for Investors, HSBC Jintrust Fund Management Company Limited's investment classics, have been published in English as part of the Wiley Investment Classics series. The books are available in a number of international markets, including Hong Kong, Singapore and the US.
Publications on wealth management topics have become popular in mainland China inrecent years as a result of the A-share market rallies and strong demand for investment products by local investors. Unlike many local fund management companies, which normally translate overseas best-selling financial management
publications and jointly publish the books with overseas copyright holders, HSBC Jintrust published the two books on its own. The books draw on classical Chinese literature and historical tales with lively pictorial illustrations to exhibit basic investment knowledge and wealth management skills.
The original Chinese version of Honglou Fortune and 36 Strategems for Investors were first published in 2007 and 2008 respectively by the Shanghai People’s
Publishing House in mainland China after successful serialisation in a number of local newspapers and investment websites. Honglou Fortune has been reprinted four times and sold tens of thousands of copies, making it a best-seller among Chinese financial books.
Steve Lee, Chief Executive Officer, HSBC Jintrust, said, “HSBC Jintrust is determined to be one of the most respected fund management companies in China. Since its inception in 2006, we have devoted tremendous effort to promoting investor education in an innovative way. By publishing the two books in English, we hope to share our investment insights with international investors while promoting traditional Chinese culture.
“We believe that the two books are the first wealth management books written by Chinese financial planning experts for overseas investors, which demonstrate the increasingly important role of the Chinese market to the global economy,” he added.
In Hong Kong, the two books are available at Page One, Cosmo Books, and Kelly & Walsh Ltd
