State Street Global Services appoints Elizabeth Sok-Gek Chia as head of South East Asia
In a release, State Street, one of the world’s leading provider of financial services to institutional investors, announced the appointment of Elizabeth Sok-Gek Chia as Head of Global Services for South East Asia and Singapore branch manager.
Based in Singapore, Elizabeth will join State Street’s Global Services (SSGS) team effective 27 September. She will
be responsible for expanding State Street’s business with new and existing clients across Singapore, Malaysia,
Thailand and Brunei.
As branch manager Elizabeth will have overall responsibility for ensuring effective governance for the Singapore office.
Ian Martin, senior vice-president and head of SSGS for South Asia and Pacific, said: “Elizabeth brings immense
experience in the Asian banking and asset management sectors to the role having held senior positions responsible
for growing market share.
Her expertise and close relations with our key partners and business associates will be central to continuing our regional strategy to grow our non-US revenue and we are delighted to have her join.”
Ms. Chia joins State Street from BNP Paribas Securities Services where she was the managing director and head of client development, Asset Owners and Asset Managers, Asia for over four years. Prior to BNP Paribas, Elizabeth was at DBS Bank where she was managing director, heading Global Transaction Services - Securities Services.
She also held key management positions with Deutsche Bank Asia Pacific, gaining over 25 years of experience in
fund administration and custody across various Asian markets.
Elizabeth replaces Nick Wright as Singapore branch manager and she reports directly to Ian Martin. Nick has
transitioned back to London as Global Services chief operating officer, EMEA.
