BNP launches Indian equities-invested funds

BNP launches Indian equities-invested funds

BNP Paribas Investment Partners launched two new private placement funds invested in Indian equities. Their management is delegated to Sundaram BNPP AM, the Indian equity specialist of BNPP IP.

With these two feeder funds, investors will be able to enjoy a direct access to Indian domestic equity funds. As these are domestic funds, they do not fall under the same regulation rules as those imposed on foreign investments. Both Indian domestic funds benefit from a proven performance track record, going back more than seven years.

"Our funds are very complementary. The first one has a very concentrated approach, investing in 30 stocks we believe are best in class, while the other fund offers a very attractive access to Indian mid caps. They both concentrate our best investment ideas," said TP Raman, head of Sundaram BNP Paribas Asset Management.

Both funds put a strong emphasis on the fund manager's pure convictions, and benefit from the skills of an experienced local fund manager who has been managing Indian equity funds for more than 10 years.

"Today, we are positive on a number of sectors, mainly driven by private demand recovery and we think that India is one of the main drivers of emerging markets' economies. India will definitely be one of the most rapidly growing countries in the next couple of years," concluded Vincent Camerlynck, Global Head of Business Development at BNPP Investment Partners.
