BNP Paribas appoints new officers for Hong Kong & Seoul

BNP Paribas Investment Partners has announced the appointment of Jean Audibert as president of New Markets Asia (Hong Kong) and Patrick Mange as deputy CEO of Shinhan BNP Paribas Asset Management (Seoul).

As president of New Markets Asia, Jean Audibert will supervise existing joint ventures in Asia (South Korea and China) and partner relationships. He will also seek new development and partnership opportunities in the region. Jean Audibert, who will be based in Hong Kong, will work closely with the local BNP Paribas Investment Partners teams and will take an active part in its expansion in Asia.

Jean Audibert has for the past three years been president and CEO of Shinhan BNP Paribas Investment Trust Management Co., which has become one of the largest players in the Korean asset management market. During his career of over 30 years with the BNP Paribas Group, including 12 years spent in Asia, Jean Audibert was successively: the Group’s No. 2 in Singapore, Director for Southern Korea, and head of the Trade Finance and Cash Management business lines. Jean Audibert graduated from the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce in Toulouse in 1974.

Patrick Mange is appointed as deputy CEO of Shinhan BNP Paribas Asset Management, the new entity resulting from the merger of Shinhan BNPP ITMC and SH AMC, which became effective on 2 January 2009. He will head the investment management teams (equities, interest rates, alternative investment and international funds) of the new entity. Mange will also be in charge of the Research division as well as the Financial Engineering and Product Specialist teams. The quality of the combined teams will build a strong platform able to meet the requirements of Shinhan Financial Group clients and external distributors.

Patrick Mange has been the head of Investment Strategy for BNP Paribas Asset Management since 2001. Before joining BNP Paribas Asset Management, Patrick worked for Merrill Lynch Capital Markets France as Euro Area Strategist. Prior to that, he was chief economist and head of Fixed Income Research at Deutsche Bank AG in both Frankfurt and Paris. Patrick Mange holds a doctorate in economics from the University of Freiburg, Germany (1987).
