PROJECT | Bharat bags $567M Dainik contract

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited secured a contract for setting up a 1,200 MW thermal power plant in Chhattisgarh.

Valued at US$567 million, the order has been placed by Dainik Bhaskar Power Limited for supplying and installing the main plant package for their upcoming coal-based thermal power project, located at Baradarha in Janjgir district of Chhattisgarh.

The order is testimony to the confidence reposed by Independent Power Producers in BHEL’s capabilities. It also reinforces BHEL’s leadership status in the execution of thermal power projects involving supply of state-of-the-art equipment, suited to Indian coal and Indian conditions.

Significantly, BHEL secured its highest ever orders from Private Power.
